To All Fellow Mapuans,
On 4th December 2008, we have reached another milestone in holding the election of officers of NAMA-UAE Chapter for 2009-2010. First of all, we thank our Lord for paving the way in the formation of NAMA-UAE Chapter and for the successful holding of the election of officers.
There were at least 84 Mapuans representing various fields of professions present during the first general meeting. Philippine Consulate in Dubai has sent its representative Consul Butch Bandillo.
He congratulated all Mapuans for organizing NAMA-UAE and gave an insight into the various organizations in Dubai and what NAMA-UAE can contribute especially to the welfare of the Filipinos in the UAE. He also encourage all Mapuans to visit the Dubai Consulate and to attend meetings with other organization every third week of the month.
The event started with the invocation (prayer) and followed by Roger Zapanta’s Safety Minutes. Vic Santo-Tomas (Adviser) has presented the events that led to the formation of NAMA-UAE and presented its objectives and goals. Enrico Garcia has presided the General Election of Officers. The counting of votes was composed of Milo Torres, Gerard Abecilla & Vic Santo-Tomas. There were 18 persons nominated and eight (8) were elected as members of the board. The board members then elected its officers as follows;

The induction of NAMA-UAE officers will be held next year around 4th week of January or 1st week of February 2009. The original plan was to have the induction the same day as the election but have to be postponed due to unavailability of flights from Dubai to Manila in December. I advised NAMA Inc. President Rod Silvestre of the difficulty and has agreed that the induction will be held next year.
