To Jun and All Proud Mapuans of NAMA-UAE Chapter,
In behalf of NAMA Officers, Directors, Affiliate Directors, Advisers, and the whole Mapua Alumni community, please accept our warmest greetings and felicitations on your successful holding of a general meeting and subsequent election of your first set of Officers / Advisers. Finally, the dream of having a Mapua alumni organization in UAE, the "First" in Middle East, has been realized and it could only be attributed to all your no mean efforts, persistence, enthusiasm and dynamism.
Middle East, most specially UAE, has been for so long, and still is, the hub and hive of continous engineering / construction activity fueled by its petroleum wealth. You need only to think of Burj al-Arab and Burj Dubai to have a measure of this. Hence, it won't be hard to think that if there's an engineering activity of this scale, a Mapuan or a group of Mapuans, with their engineering and technical expertise and skills, will always come to fore. Now, with this NAMA-UAE Chapter just formed, it could serve as an umbrella organization for all Mapuans in the region for their technical, social and professional upliftment and well-being. Of course, the Philippine Consulate in Dubai's recognition of this chapter is the icing in the cake for it legitimizes the group's formation.
On another note, it would be an honor on our part to be present in Dubai during your group's official induction. We look forward to seeing everyone around during that time which we hope would be held by 1st week of February 2009. But before that, and since Jun T would be coming home in 3days time, we are inviting him and all NAMA-UAE Chapter members who would be around to attend the NAMA Christmas Party on December 14, Sunday, starting at 11AM, at the MWSS La Mesa Club House. Jun, we will take care of all the arrangements in ferrying you to and after the event.
Again, our congratulations to you All. Be Proud to be Mapuans! Viva Mapua!
Kind regards,
Rod C. Silvestre
2008~2009 NAMA President
